This year marks 25 years of intensive cooperation in student education between the Institute of Production Machines, Systems and Robotics at Brno University of Technology and the Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing Processes at TU Chemnitz. The joint study, which began in 2000 on the basis of a bilateral agreement within the ERASMUS/SOCRATES programme, has enabled more than 60 students to successfully graduate to date.
In 2009, the joint Czech-German study programme Production Systems / Produktionssysteme was subsequently accredited with the possibility of obtaining two university diplomas (Ing., MSc.), which took this cooperation to a new level. Teaching at TU Chemnitz is conducted in German and is aimed at students interested in international experience, quality technical education and the challenges of studying in a foreign language.
After a forced hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, interest in the programme was renewed last year. The first five students – Václav Hotovec, Jan Směšný, Václav Sedlák, Richard Pirmajer and Jan Kaminek – are now completing their first semester at TU Chemnitz.
