Robert Grim, a PhD student at the Institute of Aerospace Engineering, achieved a significant sporting success at the Sky Paragliders Beskydy Open 2026 competition, which also served as the Czech and Slovak National Championships in Cross-Country (XC) Paragliding and the Czech Academic Championships.
Competing against nearly one hundred pilots from several European countries, Robert Grim secured first place in the Academic category and finished 10th overall.
The competition took place from 30 May to 4 June 2026 in the Beskydy Mountains, with the main event base located in Baška near Frýdlant nad Ostravicí. Over several flying days, competitors had to demonstrate not only excellent piloting and navigation skills, but also the ability to adapt to changing weather conditions.
We congratulate Robert Grim on this excellent achievement and thank him for representing both the Faculty and the University.
