Selected Topics in Strength of Materials
FSI-0PP Acad. year: 2026/2027 Winter semester
The course is to complete and expand the knowledge of the course Stength Analysis I (4PP). The course is the suplement to the lecture, seminars and home work.
It contains:
- calculation of the resulting internal forces and moments in a rod,
- calculation of quadratic moments of the cross section of the rod,
- rods under simple stress – tension / compression, torsion and bending,
- rods under combined stresses,
- supporting stability of rods.

The course is completed by a course-unit credit. The condition for obtaining it is more than 60% participation in lectures.

This course runs simultaneously with the seminars of Strength Analysis I (4PP) and more or less follows its schedule. The content of lessons may be modified according to students’ requirements and needs.
