Conditions for gaining the exam:
- submission and defense of individual work on selected theme related to the field of contact problems, lubrication, friction or wear. The work consists of two selected problems according to the focus of the student's dissertation from the areas of theoretical description, calculations, numerical modeling for the purpose of new original results, or analysis of own or published results.
Absence from lessons may be compensated for according to the teacher's instructions.

- Tribological system and processes. Principles and regimes of lubrication.
- Material Properties. Lubricant Rheology.
- Elastostatic Contacts. Contact between rough surfaces. Stresses and Contact Fatigue.
- Governing Equations of Fluid Film Lubrication. Theory of Conformal and Non-conforming Contacts Lubrication.
- Thermal, Transient and Abnormal Phenomena in Contacts.
- Friction and Non-linear Lubricant Behavior in Contacts. Micro-EHD lubrication and mixed EHD lubrication.
- Boundary lubrication, solid lubricants and coatings.
- Wear mechanisms and wear analysis.
