Original abstract
The article describes observed changes in bearing steel due to roller burnishing. As the most suitable method for roller burnishing of hardened bearing steel was selected hydrostatic roller burnishing. The hydrostatic roller burnishing operation was apllied as an additional operation after standard finishing operations. All tests were performed on samples of material 100Cr6 (EN 10132-4) and changes in the surface layer of the workpiece are then evaluated. To get the best possible default parameters for tests several simulation, using finite element methods, were used. The main tested parameters included the residual stress and plastic deformation during roller burnishing.
