Original abstract
A reference temperature localizing the fracture toughness temperature diagram on temperature axis was correlated with general yield temperature determined for notched tensile test data. This correlation has been investigated as a part of the larger study focused on the prediction methods for fracture behaviour in transition region by using artificial neural networks. Three-point bend specimens were applied to determine the fracture toughness. The fracture toughness transition dependence was quantified by means of master curve concept enabling to represent it using one parameter, i.e. reference temperature. The reference temperature was calculated applying the multi-temperature and/or single temperature method. Tensile test samples with circumferential notch were also examined at temperatures around expected general yield temperature. Then this temperature has been determined from the experimental data. In total 29 data sets from low-alloy steels with different yield stress were applied for the analyses. A good correlation of general yield temperature with reference temperature was found.
