Original abstract

The chapter deals with CNC drilling and boring machines. It is described design of those machines, their sizes, design, usage etc. The drilling and boring machines represent the inseparable part of the manufacturing process. The drilling machines are aimed at one technological operation. They can serve for manufacture of a small quantity of the holes having the specific parameters as well as for manufacture of a big quantity of the holes made on the parts manufactured in great lots. The boring machines which are known under the name horizontal boring and milling machines offer considerably more technological possibilities and they are determined to machine the parts which – said in the simplified way – are not suitable for machining on the vertical or horizontal machining centres.
