Original abstract
This review paper provides an introduction to the issue of lubricated Hertzian contacts and related elastohydrodynamic regime of lubrication. This review deals with recent advances in such contacts in more detail. Emphasis is placed on the effects of surface topography involving real roughness and artificial featured. These problems are discussed on the basis of experiments carried out in Institute of Machine and Industrial Design, Brno University of Technology.
