Original abstract

Thermal treatment of feeders is one of most effective method to improve the function of feeders by solidification of metal in the mould. Experimental method based on thermal field measurement was used for description of influence of exosleeves in the system metal-sleeve-mould. The experimental results were compared with results of numerical simulation performed on NovaCast simulation software. The thermophysical properties of exo-sleeves were found by means of DTA analysis. The goal of this projekt was to gain real data for numerical simulation of thermal field in metal by solidification.
