Original abstract

Ostřižení hlavy šroubů je simulováno pomocí systému LS-Dyna.

English abstract

Bolt head trimming is the last shape imprinting operation in the process of cold forming of bolts. It causes extreme loading of the trimming matrix, which is often the weakest point of the whole process. Aim of our work was the analysis of material flow and tool loading, so that its durability could be enhanced. Explicit FE solver LS-Dyna was used for numerical simulation of several geometrical versions, together with experimental measurement. Obtained results of cutting force, shape of trimmed areas and distribution of plastic deformation and shear bands were mutually compared and subsequent changes of geometry were suggested.
