Original abstract

The plane stress fracture toughness of semi-crystalline polypropylene (PP) and amorphous acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) was measured by the Essential Work of Fracture (EWF) approach using tensile loaded double edge notched tension (DENT) specimens. The effect of notch preparation on fracture toughness of mentioned materials was investigated. It was found out that selected method of notching significantly influence the values of fracture toughness.
