Original abstract
Intensive development of new modern technologies in the field of production machines and introduction of ISO 9000:2000, which require consistent orientation towards the customers´ needs and process approach to all activities including design, have caused the need to look for the methods of preventive quality assurance applicable in this field. One of the methods of preventive quality assurance – Quality, Safety and Organisational Function Deployment (QSOFD) has been worked out in order to achieve quality assurance in the pre-production stages of the development of production machines. QSOFD became the foundation stone of the presently developed method called Meta-Quality Deployment (MQD). This method facilitates assurance of quality, reliability and safety of the developed machines and is based on the principles of system approach, concurrent engineering, integrated product development and Life Cycle Engineering. This article presents the applicability of these new-generation methods of preventive quality assurance – MQD and QSOFD in the development and design of such production machines that would meet not only the customers´ requirements, but also all the legal requirements with special focus on reliability and safety.
