Original abstract

This design workshop aims to make students look into the broad subject of biogenic materials. These are rather new, especially in their use and production. They differ from our well-known and plentifully used substances, but this can be a chance for new forms and shapes – which are urgently needed to communicate and advertise these innovations. The start point for our research and design workshop is the new book of our much regarded colleagues Dominik Walcher and Markus Petruch. It shows 101 alternative materials to their petrochemical derived counterparts. Each of the twelve student teams will work on a chapter featuring various proposals.
