Original abstract

Thermal structure with variable height to transfer heat between two surfaces in thermal management of spacecraft with discontinuous conductivity. It is a result of additive re-design of a heat switch being developed for the European Space Agency ESA. Shape of the ultralight component is driven by the thermal efficiency, manufacturability and applicability of surface treatment by unconventional technologies. Component was manufactured by additive technology Selective Laser Melting from aluminium alloy powder. Functional sample is used for further testing.
