Original abstract
The behavior of a single dent within EHD contacts has been studied. The effect of slide-to-roll ratio on film thickness distribution was observed by thin film colorimetric interferometry. Measured results were compared with calculated data obtained from numerical solvers for the contact problem. From the results for different contact parameters it can be stated that good agreement between the numerical and experimental data was reached. Based on both already acquired and further ahead obtained results the deeper analysis of surface features influence on contact parameters can be made. Moreover, more detailed analysis of the physical reasons for observed film thickness and contact pressure behavior can be made on the base of larger amount of measured/calculated data.
