Original abstract

This study explores optimizing the rapid cooling process in continuous annealing lines to prevent steel strip deformation. The novel aspect is the comprehensive optimization of the cooling process. The study, conducted at Brno University of Technology and POSCO, involved measuring steel properties at 20-800 °C, measuring of cooling intensities, and numerical simulations. Results showed a high risk of deformation, leading to further process optimization. Benefits include improved steel strip flatness and quality, with future enhancements expected in continuous heat treatment processes.
