Original abstract

Matlab script package developed to allow creation and analysis of properties of large number of sandwich panels with honeycomb core and composite faces for a purpose of validation of analytical approach of sandwich property prediction. The software estimates Poisson's ratios and Young's and shear moduli by using FE eqvivalent of tensile and shear tests of panel samples. Package creates FE mesh of sandwich samples and writes the mesh data, material properties, test loads and boundary conditions into a .bdf file compatible with MSC.Nastran 2023.1. Script allows to automaticly generates mesh, analyse sample and evaluate the resulting properties or to gather larger number of samples and analysis cases, which can be analysed later.
