Original abstract
The article deals with an experimental research of effervescent atomization. The resulting spray is affected by the type of the two-phase flow in the mixing chamber of the atomizer. The resulting type of the two-phase flow is influenced by media properties, geometrical parameters and arrangement of the chamber. The special transparent effervescent nozzle in configuration (inside-out gas injection) allowed the two-phase flow rising in the mixing chamber to be visualized. A high-speed camera was used for the visualization. The measurement of spray quality is represented by the values of the mean diameters of droplets, especially D32 (SMD-Sauter mean diameter). This characteristic parameter was obtained with the use of the laser diagnostics system PDA (Phase Doppler Analyzer). For complex overview of the spray, pictures of the spray were taken by means of a digital camera.
