Original abstract

The phenomena related to wear has an important impact on the economy of metal forming operations, which is very important take into consideration mainly in designing of forming tools. The statistics show that wear is, to within approximately 70% the dominating failure mechanism for hot forging dies and has therefore an important influence on the service life of forging dies and on the production cost of forged products. For that reason a short contribution into this very important area of interest is presented in this article.
