Original abstract

EUCOR material is a natural ceramics produced by fusion of natural basalt [2]. A measuring method for investigation of its elastic material characteristics was developed, enabling to evaluate elasticity moduli in tension and compression. Basis lies in measuring strain values at a beam under four-point-flexion using electric resistance strain gauges. The results showed some discrepancies the causes of which have to be analysed. Among this causes, structural non-homogeneity and material porosity can be important. The paper presents results of computational modelling of the influence of test specimen material porosity on its strain-stress states. These results are valid generally for any type of material with porosity.
