Picture Processing by Using Fourier Descriptors Method

This contribution describes the problem of the analysis of Fourier descriptors method for picture processing and a proposal of the programme system for solving digital filtering especially with the regard to the selection of suitable filters for the arrangements of picture matrix in robotics, in the noise suppression, the accentuation of contours in lithography, etc. The definition of Fourier descriptors of curve k has been introduced here. The paper contains a comparison of Fourier analysis of closed curves with other orthogonal transformations. Requests for an optimum orthogonal base for curve classification according to their descriptors have been also determined here. In the conclusion the possibilities of using Fourier descriptors method have been outlined.
