Original abstract
Shell constructions, which are widely used in process industry, can be rendered unstable on certain terms. When performing stability test, in some cases calculations according to standards can be used, however complicated constructions are mainly tested by Final Element Method (FEM) buckling analysis. Despite the fact, that above mentioned methods are using perfect geometry, loss of stability in a real construction is affected by imperfections. Purpose of this work is to compare different ways of implementing imperfections into stability test procedure in FEM software ANSYS.
Keywords in English
stability, shell, imperfection, nonlinear analysis, large deformations.
