Original abstract

A proposal for a new design and method of knee replacement based on computed tomography data and utilizing Rapid Prototyping is described. The knee joint replacement physical prototype combining todays commonly used knee replacement geometry and the patients knee surface geometry was successfully produced by means of computed tomography, data editing on CAD system and rapid prototyping.
