English abstract
The paper informs of the results of the material analysis of selected typographical objects from the early Moravian printing works in Kralice upon Oslava. The Brethren printing works of a very great significance in the history of the Czech Lands printed, besides others, the famous six-volume Kralice Bible (1579 – 1593). Find objects, especially the printer´s types made of type-alloy, form part of a collection which is unique in the world. The chemical composition of the types, their microstructure, microhardness and the composition of corrosion products of the types were established. A suitable method of type restoration and conservation was worked out and practically verified. Besides the objects made of type-alloy also the objects made of copper alloys, as for instance brass pins and spaces, were analyzed.
