Original abstract
The paper is focused on the safety assessment of avionic systems during airplane's design and certification process with practical application on avionic system of small General Aviation (GA) airplane. Topics discussed in the paper include: requirements of regulations for software and electronic systems, a practical example of certification analysis for such system, available sources of information from producers. Driving force for solution of mentioned problems was development of new generation of small aircraft in Czech aviation industry. Recent aircraft are equipped with rather complex avionic systems (usually with presentation on multi-functional displays). It is necessary to keep such systems as safe and reliable as possible. Presented work is part of Task D2 "Dependability of aircraft systems and Equipment" within the project Aerospace Research Centre (ARC).
