English abstract

This paper describes research and scientific activities of the Institute of Automation and Computer Science at Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and its linking with industrial practice. It also summarises possibilities of finding jobs for students that study one of the specialisations provided by the institute.
