Original abstract
The purpose of a quality system is to provide and maintain controlled conditions in which processes take place – both value-adding and support processes. The point is to have such process management that will ensure that the output from the overall process is in conformity with the requirements of the environment (customers, interested parties); this is the basic precondition of a company's existence. Linking up partial processes (within one overall process) on the principle of conformity between the predecessors's output and the successor's input requirements forms the basis of reducing costs. Satisfying most of these requirements can comprehensively be termed as process capability. Process capability can be described by the relation between the tolerance interval (admissible degree of the scatter of output quantity values) and the actual scatter interval of output quantity values.
