Original abstract
The knowledge of the plastic behaviour of formed metals and alloys under defined thermomechanic conditions is indispensable for the application of precise bulk-forming technologies. In the course of plastic deformation there are significant changes in the structure of materials and, above all, mechanical properties of materials. Plastic deformation of metallic materials and alloys is thus a complex process that depends on a number of factors with the effect of strain rate being of particular importance. The paper deals with a direct evaluation of the required dependence relations: stress-strain and strain rate-strain, using the Hopkinson pressure bar test, for specimens made of AA5083-H111 aluminium alloy. The specimens were loaded repeatedly.
