Original abstract

Isothermally treated ADI (austempered ductile iron) is preferably used for dynamically loaded components (e.g. gear and traversing wheels, crankshafts, swivel pins, rail brakes etc.) in very large lifetime range, therefore its fatigue properties are studied in very wide region of cycles to fracture. The aim of the paper consists in determination of S-N curve for the whole range of ADI lifetime from 0.5 to 100 millions cycles to fracture at symmetric push-pull loading at room temperature.
