Original abstract

The paper is concerned with the potential occurrence of head and flow oscillations in a long water feeding pipeline of a hydraulic power plant. A situation is analysed which is characterized by oscillations being caused by two conditions occurring simultaneously – the water feeding pipeline of a controlled hydraulic power plant is prone to resonance and the controlling system generates undesired changes in the turbine opening at exactly the critical frequency.
