Original abstract

Stress waves in railroad wheel are known to the default. In case of a ride of a railroad wheel the stress waves are forming, spreading and interacting with each other. The aim of this study is to compute simulation of these waves in case of a straight ride and in case of a ride in curve and also to determine spots in which it will reach failures of material related to the first plastic deformation of the wheel material. This article is an introduction to elasto-plastic states of the railroad wheel due to stress waves.
