[popis] => Presented paper presents ARM mbed microcontroller usage as a control unit in student's autonomous convoy project. The ARM mbed devices are based on 32-bit ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and are widely used for a number of students and science projects. Proper selection of appropriate HW platform is typical issue, especially nowadays when students can choose from many different and low-cost platforms such as Raspberry PI, Beagle Bone, Arduino or TI Launchpad. In presented paper we would like to show the working solution of control unit for autonomous vehicle based on ARM mbed and show why we chose this platform from mentioned HW competition. The scaled model of an autonomous convoy project is made, consisting of a number of vehicles and it is necessary to have a powerful control unit to handle all calculations.

Mobile robots use ultrasonic range finders to solve a collision avoidance task, which is crucial for successful navigation. In case that the sensory readings are invalid the robot should be able to detect this failure and interrupt its actual movement. The method based on first-order Markov chain parameters estimation was developed and tested in both the simulation and real world environment. Practical experiments were performed on autonomous mobile robot Advee.

The sequence, which has the pattern bigger-smaller-bigger cells size, is more likely to be located in a narrow area. The minimum spanning tree algorithm is used, to linearize adjacency graph. Many methods have been proposed to manipulate the edges cost in the graph, in order to make the generated spanning tree traverse through narrow passages in detectable ways. Five methods have been proposed, some of them give bad results, and the others give better on in simulations

This method can be used for localization of autonomous mobile robots inside of buildings. The method contains two parts. The first one is mapping of environ-ment, where the mobile robot operates. The second one is localization problem, which was solved by particle filters, where a particles weights re-sampling was realized by phase correlation image processing method as well. [popis_en] => This paper deals with design of visual SLAM method, which is based on phase correlation and particle filters. This method can be used for localization of autonomous mobile robots inside of buildings. The method contains two parts. The first one is mapping of environ-ment, where the mobile robot operates. For this purpose was used phase correlation and images stitching method. The second one is localization problem, which was solved by particle filters, where a particles weights re-sampling was realized by phase correlation image processing method as well. Localization uses the map, which was created by phase correlation and stitching method.

Dijkstra’s Grid and its usage for the path planning of holonomic robots with omnidirectional platforms in known
environments with static obstacles. The surveyed problem is relevant to a number of ordinary applications dealing with 3D surfaces in general. Article proposes a different implementation of the given issue by a grid approach to the approximated digital surface model featuring the Dijkstra’s shortest path algorithm with simple custom postprocessing optimization of the final solution. Three experiments in the custom C++ simulation environment RRT Explorer 3.0 are shown using two distinctive densities of the grid thus demonstrating the diverse levels of the landscape approximation. In the conclusion, the advantages and drawbacks of the offered method are discussed.
