[nazev] => Fracture-Mechanics Behaviour of Ceramic Foam with Macroscopic Stress Concentrator upon the Tensile Test
[nazev_orig] => Fracture-Mechanics Behaviour of Ceramic Foam with Macroscopic Stress Concentrator upon the Tensile Test
[duvernost_udaju_id] => S
[popis] => The work investigates an influence of the macroscopic stress concentrator inside the ceramic open cell foam structure on the fracture-mechanics response of the foam upon the tensile test. As the concentrator, the central crack/rectangular notch was taken into account. The influence of the crack/notch length and width on the stress concentration ahead the concentrator tip was assessed using the simplified FE beam element based model with irregular cells simulating the real ceramic foam structure. Average principal stresses calculated on set of struts ahead the crack/notch tip were compared with average stresses in the intact structure. It was found that the ratio of these stresses increases linearly with the crack length. The stress concentration ratio is slightly lower in case of thick rectangular notch than in case of a thin crack. Furthermore, the failure load leading to
complete fracture of the studied specimens, subjected to the tensile loading, were calculated using the same model. It is shown that the difference factor between the critical fracture force in case of structure without concentrator and with concentrator is very close to the concentration factor calculated from the average stresses on particular struts in the region in front of the concentrator tip.

[popis] => Proposed paper deals with the application of plastic response with directional distortional hardening (DDH) in uncoupled ductile fracture model and comparison of the results with the same ductile fracture model based on isotropic J2 plasticity. The results of simulations have proven not negligible role of model of plasticity and the response of the model with DDH plasticity is closer to reality then the one of the model with isotropic plasticity.

[nazev_orig] => Eccentricity Effect in the Hole-Drilling Residual Stress Measurement
[duvernost_udaju_id] => S
[popis] => The paper focuses on the analysis of the eccentricity effect in the measurement of the hole-drilling residual stress. Relaxed strains were evaluated by computational simulation of the hole-drilling experiment using the finite element method. Errors induced by eccentricity were estimated for elastic and elastic-plastic states in area around the drilled hole due to the stress concentration. The invariance of the stress change with depth was assumed. The correction of eccentricity and plasticity effects in evaluation of residual stresses was realized within the EVAL 7 software (SINT Technology). The analysis shows that in elastic state the eccentricity and angular position of the drilled hole have a significant effect on relative residual stress errors. Correction according to the HDM method is very effective in this case. If the relative error of 5 % is allowed, which is in engineering practice acceptable, eccentricity of ±0.05 mm could be accepted without correction. When the combination of eccentricity and plasticity occurs, the correction of plasticity is more important in method 13-EXT-UN.

[nazev_en] => Eccentricity Effect in the Hole-Drilling Residual Stress Measurement
[popis_en] => The paper focuses on the analysis of the eccentricity effect in the measurement of the hole-drilling residual stress.

[popis] => Pipe failure in long-term applications is characterized by creep crack initiation and creep crack growth. Both can be determined by fracture mechanics based tests of the pipe materials. Nowadays, several accelerated tests are available: PENT (Pennsylvania Edge Notch Tensile test), FNCT (Full Notch Creep Tensile test), CRB (Cracked Round Bar test) or SHT (Strain Hardening Test) and NCBT (Notched Cylindrical Bars Test). The PENT, CRB and SHT were applied to one unimodal polyethylene (PE 80), four bimodal polyethylene (three of PE 100 and one of PE 100-RC) and one PE-BF (for blow molding). The contribution is focused mainly on two topics: (i) difference in specimen's preparation and test conditions and (ii) comparison of the experimental results obtained using different accelerated tests.

[nazev_en] => Modification of Frame for Synchronous Machine with Permanent Magnet
[popis_en] => The modification of frame for permanent magnet synchronous machine is the aim of this contribution. The frame properties were identified on the base of measurement during motor testing. The eigenfrequency was obtained from the modal analysis of the frame. The results of modal analysis proved that the first eigenfrequency is in the region of the speed with vibration. It was therefore necessary to increase the frame eigenfrequency.

[popis] => This paper deals with the computational modelling of dental implant interacting with bone tissue. For the purposes of the study, one human mandible and a segment of a different human mandible were examined. In total, five variants of geometry models with dental implant were investigated: One full mandible and four segments. For the latter, two different boundary conditions were used (first based on the sub-modeling approach and second assuming fixed support). If the coarse model for the particular bone segment model is not available, it is possible to use a generic boundary condition for a typical mandible subjected to a typical loading.

[popis] => The present work deals with a strain intensity sensitivity to finite element mesh density in computational models of skull bone sample with an inhomogeneous distribution of Young's modulus. Computational experiments on models with various mesh density were conducted to test the hypothesis that the strain intensity distribution along the bone sample thickness is significantly influenced by the mesh density when material properties of bone obtained from the computer tomography are assigned to the finite element model. The results indicate that the mesh quality matters.

[popis] => The contribution deals with numerical simulation of response of the open cell ceramic foam to tensile loading and attempts to predict experimental fracture-mechanics behaviour of the foams using numerical FE model composed of beam elements. Models of different structure irregularity (including regular one) are considered and generated using 3D Voronoi tessellation technique. Complete fracture of the model is simulated by iterative FE simulations where in each step, one strut with maximal tensile stress (higher than the material tensile strength) is removed until complete separation of the model in two parts. Critical forces, leading to complete breakage of the foam structure, together with final fracture "surfaces", are investigated and compared for both regular and irregular structures. It is shown that the regular foam structure, composed of Kelvin cells, exhibit generally 10 - 20 % higher fracture resistance than the irregular foam structures and also that structures with smaller cells should be more fracture resistant than the structures with bigger cells.

[nazev_en] => INFLUENCE OF CERAMIC FOAM PARAMETERS ON THE FRACTURE BEHAVIOUR UPON THE TENSILE TEST
[popis_en] => The contribution deals with numerical simulation of response of the open cell ceramic foam to tensile loading and attempts to predict experimental fracture-mechanics behaviour of the foams using numerical FE model composed of beam elements.

[popis] => The aim of the present work is to analyze the influence of residual stresses in the particulate ceramic composite on the crack propagation. The crack propagation direction was estimated using Sih’s criterion based on the strain energy density factor. A two-dimensional finite element model was developed for determination of crack path. The residual stresses resulting from the mismatch of coefficients of thermal expansion during the fabrication process of the composite were implemented to the computational model. The effect of the particles shape on the crack propagation was investigated. Conclusions of this paper can contribute to a better understanding of the propagation of micro-cracks in particulate composites in the field of residual stresses.

[popis] => SOCs (Solid Oxide Cells) operate in harsh conditions and have to withstand considerable static and cyclic stresses, both mechanical and thermal. Thus, their mechanical stability is threatened. One fundamental aspect is the structural integrity of the cell. In fact, mechanical failure of a single cell can damage the whole stack, reducing the lifetime and the efficiency of the entire system. This study focuses on the ceramic layered structure of an Yttria-stabilized electrolyte supported cell. Its elastic modulus has been measured through destructive and nondestructive techniques (three-point bending test, impulse excitation technique, tensile test). Many literature sources deal with properties of the most common electrolytes and electrodes, yet co-sintering effects and interactions between layers are still not fully comprehended. In this contribution the overall elastic performance of the cell has been investigated, focusing on the role that the interface between layers plays in the changing of resulting mechanical properties. To enable this investigation, layers were added to the electrolyte one by one, thus allowing individual interactions to be distinguished with the help of numerical simulations. Results obtained for consecutive samples through different techniques
have been compared and discussed.

[nazev_en] => Elastic properties of multi-layered ceramic systems for SOCs
[popis_en] => SOCs (Solid Oxide Cells) operate in harsh conditions and have to withstand considerable static and cyclic stresses, both mechanical and thermal.

[popis] => This paper addresses the important issue of the description of short fatigue crack behaviour. It is typical for these cracks that they propagate under large scale yielding conditions at the crack tip, which means that the non-linear fracture mechanics has to be applied. This paper presents results of experiments designed to measure the short crack growth rates in five different materials – 316L steel, Eurofer 97 steel, ODS Eurofer steel, Duplex 2205 steel and Al 6082 alloy. The crack growth rates of these materials are described using different fracture mechanics parameters – the stress intensity factor, the J-integral and the plastic part of the J-integral. These approaches are evaluated and compared. The comparison revealed that the plastic part of the J-integral is the parameter governing the short crack growth rate in large scale yielding conditions. Moreover, crack growth rate data from all the tested materials measured at various loading levels lies on a unique curve. This remarkable observation suggests that the crack growth rate is determined by the extent of energy spent to plastic deformation, irrespective of the other materials properties.
