Original abstract

This paper presents an investigation on the effect and optimization of machining parameters on the width of kerf of titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) using wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM). The experimental studies were conducted under varying Pulse off time, Pulse on time, Discharge current, wire speed and Gap voltage. The settings of machining parameters were determined by using Design of experiment. Statistical evaluation width of kerf by parameter settings on the machine was made using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Improved machining performance in the WEDM process has been achieved by using this approach.
