[popis] => Along with the development of human society, economy, industry and engineering, as well as with growing population in the world’s biggest cities, various approaches to person detection have become the subject of great interest. One approach to developing a person detection system is proposed in this paper. A high-angle video sequence is considered as the input to the system. Then, three classification algorithms are considered: support vector machines, pattern recognition neural networks and convolutional neural networks. The results showed very little difference between the classifiers, with the overall accuracy more than 95% over a testing set.

[nazev_orig] => DNA analyser, a new powerful tool to identify and analyse local DNA structures in genomes
[duvernost_udaju_id] => S
[popis] => Local DNA structures play important roles in the regulation of basic biological processes. Whilst computational approaches to identify these structures are available, the number of easily accessible and userfriendly tools is limited, especially for analysis of different types of local structures within long nucleotide sequences. We have developed a webbased server, DNA analyser, which is a userfriendly application for analysing local DNA structures. At first we implemented a tool for analyses of inverted repeats in various nucleic acids sequences including genome sequences and oligonucleotides. It allows users to search and retrieve desired gene/nucleotide sequence entries from the NCBI databases, and provides data on length, sequence, locations and energy required for cruciform formation. We have recently included new tools for analyses of quadruplexforming sequences – an interactive webversion of the G4hunter algorithm as well as a tool to search for p53 target sequences.
DNA analyser also features an interactive graphical representation of the distribution of local DNA structures and options for sorting and data export. DNA analyser allows whole genome analyses and it is freely available at http://bioinformatics.ibp.cz

[popis] => The goal of this paper is to verify whether the use of client-side TensorFlow.js, a WebGL-accelerated JavaScript
library for machine learning, can accelerate the processing of common photos by computer vision cloud services, such as detection and recognition of specific features like age, sex, expression or specific people in the image. This acceleration is based on pre-processing the input image, namely detecting human faces, which greatly changes the amount of input data that need to be uploaded to the cloud service and thus the amount of
uploaded data compared to the original photograph. The upload speed of Internet connection often is, in the case of computer vision cloud services, the bottleneck of the whole system. That´s why decreasing the amount of uploaded data in time shorter than the difference between the total of upload and cloud service
processing time of the original and the pre-processed image leads to acceleration.

[nazev_en] => Acceleration of Server-side Image Processing by Client-side Pre-processing in Web Application Environment
[popis_en] => The goal of this paper is to verify whether the use of client-side TensorFlow.js, a WebGL-accelerated JavaScript
library for machine learning, can accelerate the processing of common photos by computer vision cloud services, such as detection and recognition of specific features like age, sex, expression or specific people in the image.

[popis] => The article deals with the possibility of using machine learning in vibrodiagnostics to determine the type of fault of rotating machine. The data source is real measured data from the vibrodiagnostic model. This model allows simulation of some types of faults. The data is then processed and reduced for the use of the Matlab Classification learner app, which creates a model for recognizing faults. The model is ultimately tested on new samples of data. The aim of the article is to verify the ability to recognize similarly rotary machine faults from real measurements in the time domain.

[popis] => In this paper, several approaches to job shop scheduling problem are presented. A mixed integer programming model is derived and, based on this result, it is implemented in the GAMS optimisation software tool. Since the problem is NPhard, this approach may not be used for large instances, its reasonable bounds are indicated using benchmarks from ORLibrary. Here, strategies based on operations and disjunctive graph representations are applied and their time complexities are derived. These representations are also used to heuristically generate feasible solutions from their searching space. Finally, a modification is described of the problem using uncertain processing times of jobs based on fuzzy numbers. Methods for comparing fuzzy numbers are then discussed.

[popis] => In the upcoming years, the member countries of the European Union (EU) are expected to reach certain
milestones with regards to different waste management policies: reducing the amount of generated waste,
maximizing recycling and the energy usage of the appropriate waste types, phasing out landfilling, etc. With the
increasing demands on these criteria comes also the need for the planning of the construction and
modernization of the required waste processing infrastructure. This paper summarizes the current state of affairs
for selected member countries of the EU and describes the possible technologies that are suitable for reaching
the specific milestones. A multi-stage multi-period stochastic mixed-integer programming model is developed,
with the goal to minimize the overall costs associated with reaching the milestones. This model describes well
the sequential nature of the decision-making process. The present-day decisions must regard the possible
effects of the decisions on the future. The planning considers the possible modernization of infrastructure which gradually increases the efficiency in order to hit the time-respective milestones. The model is presented on a case study which examines the situation in the Czech Republic divided into 13 regions, considering 27 scenarios for future development.

[nazev_en] => Strategic Multi-Stage Planning of Waste Processing Infrastructure
[popis_en] => In the upcoming years, the member countries of the European Union (EU) are expected to reach certain
milestones with regards to different waste management policies: reducing the amount of generated waste,
maximizing recycling and the energy usage of the appropriate waste types, phasing out landfilling, etc. With the
increasing demands on these criteria comes also the need for the planning of the construction and
modernization of the required waste processing infrastructure.

[popis] => This paper deals with an advanced adjustment of stabilization sequences for selected discrete chaotic systems by means of meta-evolutionary approaches. As the representative models of deterministic chaotic systems, one dimensional Logistic equation and two dimensional H ' enon map were used. The stability of the chaotic systems has been studied by computer simulations. The novelty of the approach is in an effective design of a new type of objective function, which is very important for the whole optimization process of higher periodic orbits. Furthermore, modern meta-heuristics were used for own design of proper stabilizing sequences. The used optimization methods are a grid-based Nelder-Mead Algorithm (NMA), Genetic Algorithm (GA) as well as Genetic Programming (GP). GP results show good capability of control law synthesis in case of higher periodic orbits. A connection of GP and second level optimization using GA or NMA displays better results than stand alone meta-heuristic techniques. Although the task of stabilizing the presented chaotic systems is known, its solution presented for periodic orbits two and four is not trivial.

[nazev] => Sum Epsilon-Tube Error Fitness Function Design for GP Symbolic Regression: Preliminary Study
[nazev_orig] => Sum Epsilon-Tube Error Fitness Function Design for GP Symbolic Regression: Preliminary Study
[duvernost_udaju_id] => S
[popis] => Symbolic Regression (SR) is a well-studied method in Genetic Programming (GP) for discovering free-form mathematical models from observed data, which includes not only the model parameters but also its innate structure. Another level of the regression problem is the design of an appropriate fitness function, by which are individual solutions judged. This paper proposes a new fitness function design for symbolic regression problems called a Sum epsilon-Tube Error (STE). The function of this criterion can be visualized as a tube with a small radius that stretches along the entire domain of the approximated function. The middle of the tube is defined by points that match approximated valued (in the so-called control points). The evaluation function then compares, whether each approximated point does or does not belong to the area of the tube and counts the number of points outside of the epsilon-Tube. The proposed method is compared with the standard sum square error in several test cases, where the advantages and disadvantages of the design are discussed. The obtained results show great promise for the further development of the STE design and implementation.
[popis_orig] => Symbolic Regression (SR) is a well-studied method in Genetic Programming (GP) for discovering free-form mathematical models from observed data, which includes not only the model parameters but also its innate structure.

This paper is therefore more oriented towards theoretical metrology, although the context of measurement uncertainty will be maintained. This year a fundamental amendment to metrology came into force - new definitions of basic SI units. While this change should not have a major impact on common practical measurements, it still deserves our attention, eventually reflection on the potential impacts on the field.
