This paper deals with the analysis of inert building waste production in the Czech Republic from the point of view of their possible use as the replacement of natural mineral resources, especially of building stone and gravel sands. On the basis of an extensive survey carried out among the recyclate producers in the Czech Republic and on the basis of comparison with the production of building wastes in some EU countries, the author comes to the conclusion that more than 50% of the building waste production in the Czech Republic gets out of the waste circulation and is not recorded in official statistics
