Originální abstrakt

It is a well-known fact that polyolefinic hollow fibers made by spinning technology have a very complex morphology, which is rather difficult to characterize by a set of descriptors. Moreover different descriptors are required to characterize two-dimensional surface and three-dimensional wall of the membrane. Therefore any conventional chemical engineering model is prohibitively complex. SEM and AFM techniques have been used to characterize visually some facts. A common sense reasoning backed by some relatively simple experiments was used to evaluate processes on protozoa – hollow fiber surface and some aspects of fouling by inorganic particles. Mutual interaction of bio and inorganic fouling can be studied as well.
