The paper presents an example of stress-strain analysis in vascular anastomoses. A computational model (based on finite element system ANSYS) of surgical connection between two aortic parts with different geometric parameters is presented. The model supposed axisymmetric homogeneous isotropic incompressible non-linear elastic material behaviour. The model is loaded by inner pressure and axial stretch, both being in the normal physiologic range. The extreme stress values in the connection of both parts are compared with the extreme values in the intact aorta. The results of computational modelling enable us to evaluate the risk of the clinical complications related to mechanics (aneurysma initiation, leackage, wall rupture) by comparison of the stress increase caused by the individual types and geometries of anastomoses.
