This paper is a study of influence of long-term use on the mechanical properties of, in total, 42 high-pressure steam-turbine casings made from steel 42 2740, 42 2745 4 2747 and 42 2834. The degradation mechanisms are discussed with a wiev to predicting lifetime of casings.
