This workshop is entirely driven by the spirit of circular design. Crucial techniques like Cradle 2 Cradle, Urban Mining, the 17 European Sustainability Goals and others are the toolset for dealing with the inevitable urgency of drastically reducing our societies‘ carbon footprint. Hence we will look deeper into the possibilities of using parts and components again for different purposes. To further juicen up our creative process, a suitable style – and formal topic is also set: The new designs need to be created in the yet futuristic setting of a Solarpunk world. This utopian vision strives for a prosperous symbiosis of humankind and nature, still maintaining an unrivaled level of advanced techologies and a life of ease. The interdisciplinary and international group of this workshop will shed light on this exciting and innovative topic from different perspectives.
