This paper contains an analysis of the reason for cracks emerging in K 51/56 circumferentioal weld between a circular casing with diameter aproximately 5 mm and 130mm thick and an internal flange 110 mm thick. From the analyses made, it emeged that observe cracks spread by lamellar tearing mechanism.
