Virtually all advanced countries have been dealing with University curricula innovations recently. These efforts may be characterized by using new information and communication technologies (ICT), which now include a wide range of technical facilities, computers and software packages and their aggregation. One of the easiest options is to use finished products, such as: dictionaries, multimedia encyclopaedias, computer-based computing, modelling and simulation systems, multimedia and interactive teaching aids etc. Nowadays, Internet is used for the most parts not only as a source of information, but also as an on-line educational tool. To this end, Internet-based (mostly multimedia) textbooks and examination tests are created. Use of ICT is now being adopted on a large scale chiefly by Czech Technical Universities, among them the Technical University (TU) of Brno. Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, TU, is very well equipped to this end with up-to-date schoolrooms and is also using software packages in the teaching process. Among them is also CUPS.

Inovacemi studijních programů se v posledních letech zabývají všechny vyspělé země. Stejným charakteristickým prvkem těchto změn bývá využívání nových informačních a komunikačních technologií (ICT), mezi něž se dnes řadí široká škála spojení technických zařízení, počítačů a jejich software. Jednou z nejjednodušších možností se jeví využívání hotových produktů, mezi něž patří např.: slovníky, multimediální encyklopedie, počítačové výpočetní, modelovací a simulační systémy, multimediální a interaktivní učební pomůcky atd.. Internet dnes již většinou neslouží jen jako zdroj informací, ale začíná se využívat také pro potřeby on-line vzdělávání. Pro tyto účely se vytvářejí internetové (většinou multimediální) učební texty a zkušební testy.
