In the paper, the Atlas of Materials Structures – multimedia educational freeware is briefly described. Software Atlas of Materials Structures covers more than sixty selected engineering materials. The application enables to obtain basic information about the wide range of selected engineering materials and browse photos of their microstructures, to learn the basis of the sample preparation and image acquisition methods, and, to test the obtained knowledge by means of the testing interface. The software, which is intended to support the education in materials subjects, can be freely downloaded from the official website of the Institute of Material Science and Engineering FME BUT.
