This paper deals with the testing of the samples made by Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) method. This additive method is based on continuous melting of the fine layers of the metal powder by laser beam. The paper focuses on the DMLS description, analysis of the titanium alloys and experimental part. Scope of the experimental part is structure comparison of the material of hot formed and powder metallurgy (DMLS) using the scanning electron microscope. Results from the DMLS technology and conventional powder metallurgy are compared to show the advantages of the former technology.
